Meet Mimi and Wayne. Two-up from Perth, Westernn Australia, to Brisbane on the East coast. They are travelling in style on a BMW K1200 LT. I met them at Port Augusta, we had a good chat over a cuppa after dinner.

Lake Hart. A huge salt pan off the highway. The flies went crazy over the moisture on my face so the helmet stayed on. I rode the dirt track to the dunes then had to walk 200 meters to the edge. I drank 1 ltr of water on the way.

This track has the longest straight sections I have ever seen. I rode the dirt track parallel to the rail line for ages, some of the most fun Ive had riding.

This young dude is Skye, he is riding all over Aus on a Honda Transalp. He has done a great job setting up the bike and has been on the road 8 months. We met in Coober Pedy, the temp was 41c so we spent the night 6 meters underground.

These are not stuffed or plastic. They are fed lettuce and after dark, when the winged grasshoppers come out, you can hand feed them those. The large one also tried to eat the little one but the Bouncers chucked him out.

This is Klaus from Germany on a Yammy XT 600. We met at a road side stop near Cober Pedy. He is heading to the Rock. His KTM 950 was stolen in the USA.

Pay attention to these signs, there for real. The rotting smell wafts across the road right up your nose at 120kph. At one point, when I was on a bush track, I gagged because I went past a dead camel just off the track.
